Invitation to ENELA Conference Cycle

Publicerad: 25 november, 2011

ENELA, the European Nuclear Energy Leadership Academy, is proud to announce, in collaboration with ENSTTI, the European Nuclear Safety Training and Tutoring Institute, the launch of the ENELA Conference Cycle dedicated to the topic

“Putting severe accidents into perspective.
Learning from the past, preparing for the future of nuclear energy”

Munich, 9-10 February, 22-23 March and 26-27 April 2012

This training programme won’t be just another “Fukushima-Daiichi – the accident and consequences”- conference. Instead, we will span the spectrum of what we have learned in terms of severe accidents over the last 30 years. We will train participants equally in understanding on-site phenomena of severe accidents as well as in following  the associated environmental and public health consequences. Equipped with this knowledge, we will assess the current situation at and around the accident sites of Three Mile Island, Chernobyl and Fukushima-Daiichi. In conclusion,  we will discuss the prospects for global nuclear energy.

Throughout the ECC, we will also learn how the fascinating aspects of cultural differences in human behaviour, management and communication can impact a nation’s nuclear safety culture and find out about the complexities of risk perception.

We have already brought together an outstanding panel of co-chairs and lecturers to give their exclusive insight and expertise from Europe,  the US. and Japan and to present you with excellent networking opportunities.
