Appreciated supervisor training for nuclear power employees
KSU is known as an excellent provider of nuclear power-specific training for Vattenfall. A couple of years ago, a number of areas and courses were identified to be owned and run by KSU within 2 years. One such area was supervisor training.
A development project was started, Andreas Söderlund, UF, and Martin Miro, UR, successfully managed the project of shaping the course contents. They have done so in close connection with our customers and have taken adjacent courses in supervision into account. The result of these development efforts is a new course, called “Basic supervisor training”, in our portfolio. The course has already been run at Ringhals and Forsmark, and more are in the pipeline. The response from procurers and participants has been excellent.
The course is intended for prospective and new supervisors in nuclear power and aims to provide better understanding of the specific challenges a nuclear power supervisor may encounter. Participants are given leadership tools that they practise using during the course. At the end of the course, each person will develop a personal action plan to continue their training and development.
After gaining practical leadership experience, the next natural step may be to train in Workplace Coaching. Read more about the new course at courses under Pedagogics and Leadership.
