Meet and get to know our trainee, Elise Johansson!
She is currently partaking in Vattenfall’s International Trainee Programme and will be working at KSU as Business Developer.
What is the International Trainee Programme?
The trainee programme is an opportunity for recent graduates to get to know Vattenfall Group and experience different business areas in the company. It lasts for a year and I will be spending 50% in my ‘home’ business area which is at KSU, and 50% in the trainee programme which will consist of seminar weeks, site visits and assignments. At the end of the year, I will remain an employee at Vattenfall and can choose to continue in my ‘home’ business area or move on to other available opportunities.
Why did you apply?
I wanted to challenge myself and learn as much as I possibly could in the shortest amount of time, I felt that the best opportunity for that was through a trainee programme. I have also always been very motivated by having a positive impact on society and I feel very strongly for both Vattenfall and KSU’s missions. We are in a period where nuclear power is needed and with that comes a lot of responsibility so I feel immeasurable pride to work for KSU where making nuclear power safe and secure is our most important goal.
What has been the best part so far during your time at KSU and in your role?
I absolutely respect the people that I get to work with, they are genuinely passionate about what they do and that motivates me even more to do a good job. I also appreciate how welcoming everyone has been and how people are willing to listen to my inputs and ideas. KSU is also in a very exciting phase and I feel both grateful and lucky that I get to be a part of that journey.
What are your expectations?
I expect a lot of new experiences and opportunities to grow both personally as well as in my career. I believe that this year will be intense but it will also be filled with so many lessons. I look forward to seeing the person that I will be at the end of the programme.
Last but not least, what is a fun fact about you?
I really love bouldering, but I am afraid of heights so I occasionally get stuck on the wall because I don’t dare to jump or climb down.
