Our new graphical simulator increases process understanding
As a supplement to KSU's full-scale simulators, we are developing new simulation environments, currently in Ringhals at R34.
In the new graphical simulator, the control room is presented on screen. The advantage of a graphical simulator and the new visualisation tools it uses is that it is fully possible to visualise what is actually happening in the process, thereby resulting in better understanding of what is happening based on the information presented in the control room. But most importantly of all, it gives understanding of how we can control the process to take the direction we want, regardless of the event. The simulator learning environment that is best suited depends on the goal and teaching methods to be used in the actual course.
